HomePointe HealthCare purchases First Steps Pediatrics LLC, lauds quality standards

HomePointe HealthCare, a division of AWS, has announced its purchase of First Steps Pediatrics, LLC, effective this month. The transition involves 35 children and their families and 14 employees, said Elaine Armstrong, Vice President. 

 

“We respect and value the service standards and strong reputation First Steps Pediatrics, LLC has built in the St. Louis community,” Armstrong said. “We are grateful to the staff and leadership for developing such a strong foundation of services and best practices upon which to continue and blend our services.”  

 

HomePointe HealthCare has managed First Steps Pediatrics, LLC operations over the past year and has come to know and value the staff’s expertise and experience, Armstrong said.  “Our clients and families will see many familiar faces, including Director Jama Hall and the same therapists serving their children.” 

 

Peggy Duncan, RN, BSN, is the administrator and overseeing the transition. “I want to make this change as seamless and smooth as possible for our families and staff,“  Duncan said. 

 

In these services, therapists and nurses assist children requiring specific therapies and medical assistance in their homes.

 

“During AWS’ management over the past 15 months, we have been very impressed by their leadership team, dedication and experience,” said Sue Allen, co-owner of First Steps Pediatrics, LLC. I have been told by many parents and staff of how pleased they are with AWS.” Ms. Allen is State Representative for the 92nd District. 

 

Co-owner Bill Hopfinger agreed.  “I am certain HomePointe HealthCare will continue the great level of care our clients have come to expect.”

 

Armstrong said in addition to maintaining the same high standards of service, HomePointe HealthCare is looking forward to building on First Step Pediatrics, LLC strong reputation, with hopes to expanding nursing services and the therapeutic program.
