Annually, AWS conducts rigorous internal audits and outcome measures to reap meaningful data, which is translated into substantive results.
Compliance: Where quality meets processes
AWS never stops examining and improving quality and the processes behind the standards, legal requirements and your individual desired outcomes. Managing, measuring, documenting, sharing best practices — and then doing it all over again are how we operate. It’s part of the fabric of AWS. That’s why we conduct a “360” internal audit completed by the Compliance team that examines — with metrics — all areas of services and contract agreements.
Consistent processes
Of course, we apply the same high standards to our hiring practices, where we use consistent processes for background and education checks and interviews. Once hired, we conduct careful consultation, examination and training to match the new employee to the right position, whether administration, billing for services or providing direct care per the individual’s support plans, assuming health-care responsibilities or representing the client while managing their finances.
AWS also strives to educate persons served, employees, contractors and volunteers on cultural competence. That is, provide them the knowledge, interpersonal skills, and behaviors that enable a person or program to work effectively cross-culturally by understanding, appreciating, and respecting differences and similarities in beliefs, values, and practices within and between cultures and disabilities.
Services and Expectations
Throughout all activities, our goal is quality services to meet yours and our high standards. After all, you have entrusted your loved one’s care with us. That’s why we regularly welcome opportunities to demonstrate how our services meet your expectations — along with state and federal requirements. Likewise, our policies and processes ensure problems are dealt with swiftly, uniformly and use the highest standards for resolution.
You can be assured that AWS Compliance extends into all areas, both ethical and legal — whether through our Human Rights or Health and Safety committees, Corrective Action Plans from external reviews, or our own ongoing review of policies and procedures. Compliance begins with ensuring ethical and legal behaviors are the core principles.
