Employment Services
Helping You Find the Right Job
AWS began Employment Services in the early 1960s because of the tremendous need for training and job opportunities for people with disabilities. That need still exists today, and so does our commitment to help you find rewarding work.
If you're underemployed or unemployed, we understand the urgency to find the right job quickly. We're ready to go to work for you now!

Getting Assistance to Find the Right Job
Our Employment Consultants work with you one-on-one to find a job. They're knowledgeable and experienced in the human resource and business aspects of a job search. Because we live and work in your community, we have first-hand knowledge of the community to conduct a thorough job search for you.
Using AWS Employment Services
We use a time tested, individual approach to help you find a job. We'll assist you or do what you need based on your abilities. Think of this as a partnership.
Identify Your Goals
You first meet with your Employment Consultant, your Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and anyone else you want involved in discussing your employment needs. Together we'll create job goals and identify the necessary steps to find a job. After this meeting you'll have a better idea of the kind of job you want.
Begin Your Job Search
Completing a resume, filling out employment applications, considering or trying different jobs and interviewing are all activities we'll help you with. You decide how much assistance you want -- a lot or just a little. But know that we'll be with you every step of the way!
Starting Your Job
We don't stop serving you when you've found a job because knowing how to keep a job is also important. Job retention services include on-site job coaching, advocacy for improved pay and benefits, tutoring to improve reading skills, or if necessary, aid in finding a new job.
When you no longer need us, we know that you're well on your way to success. That's the way it should be, and that's our job.
AWS Employment Services is CARF (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited. CARF is a private, non-profit organization whose duty is to promote quality services for people with disabilities. Accreditation means that AWS has met the highest standards set by rehabilitation professionals across the country.
