Family Support
For people who are living in their family home, family support provides in-home services such as case management, training, personal assistance and vocational rehabilitation. The program allows families with a member who is disabled to stay together.
Each of these families is either in danger of needing to institutionalize a member, or in a crisis that might lead to the dissolution of the family unit. In some cases, parents need a break in order to go to the grocery, run errands, spend time with other family members or simply enjoy some "down time." Respite care affords the caregiver the time he/she needs, while ensuring that their loved one is receiving the attention they require. Each family receives services based on a family service plan that is developed in partnership with the family and AWS.
