SDI Ride for Red Cedar
The SDI Ride began as a simple idea – ride across Indiana. Four steelworkers from Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI), who are avid cyclists, were looking for their very own Tour de France. Instead they came up with the Tour de Plants - a tour of all SDI plants throughout Indiana, on bicycle. This simple idea has transformed into a four-day, 350-mile ride to benefit Red Cedar. The ride begins in Jeffersonville, Indiana and ends in Butler and the route features stops at five SDI locations. Cyclists raise pledges for the number of miles ridden.
Anyone can join the ride for the last leg of the trip - a 42-mile stretch from Columbia City, Indiana to Butler, Indiana.
The SDI Tour de Plants has raised over $100,000 for Camp Red Cedar.
This year's ride raised over $30,000.
